Composers

To see if you can benefit from my service, please answer the following questions:

If you,

  • Do not have a representative or publishing contract but have had products released and haven't seen any money yet.
  • Are published but not sure of the content of your statements.
  • Are published but don't have the time to check and verify your statements.
  • Have had a look through your publishing statements and think that there may be something not quite right.
  • Feel that auditors are expensive or you don't earn enough to justify an audit.
  • Are a major songwriter who would prefer a pre-audit (or desktop audit) before committing to a formal audit.
  • Feel that you don't get the most out of your publisher and don't really understand your statements or contract.
  • Generally feel that there is income sitting around in suspense or copyright control accounts for you.

Then I can go through your previous six publishing statements and/or your future statements to:

Check and correct registrations in the UK (possibly world-wide also) in order to free the flow of income.

Check your publishing contract to make sure all the provisions, rates, escalations etc. are explained and adhered to.

Make sure that you have been paid for all of the tracks on the products you choose (incl. singles, b sides, album tracks and compilations).

Confirm that your publisher has paid you correctly on the source percentage of track written (i.e. percentage paid by society to your publisher).

If you feel that an audit of your publisher is probably due but don't want the costs of a formal audit then I can do a pre-audit where I will do all of the investigation needed but at a fraction of the cost. NB Where I advise that a formal royalty audit is required, I can recommend an auditor for convenience.
